about
My passion is to take athletes from the Boise and across the nation and help them make big strides in their racing performance by offering year round training, coaching and tools. Qualifying athletes for TRIBE Local are 6-8th grade racers focussed on gaining fitness for NICA season. TRIBE Regional will have decided they really love competitive cycling as their main sport and are 13-23 year olds in the Boise area. These racers are Cat 2-3 level competitors. TRIBE National racers will be experienced racers who are ready to test themselves against the best in the Nation at USAC races and USXC series. These are our Cat 1 13/14, 15/16 and UCI 17/18, U23 athletes. TRIBE NATIONAL ELITE are National top ranked podium contenders in Cat 1 and UCI who go the extra mile to be rad brand and team ambassadors. For this, they can earn incentives for podium finishes and receive S-works team bike at premium price.
Mtb, gravel, CX.
This team will be focussed on XC mountain bike, gravel and cyclocross racing. We will ride roads occasionally but prioritize dirt. Outside of NICA races, the Local/Regional team will be encouraged to enter the Bogus Community Series, Waffle Cross, Twisted Turtle, Bogus Hill Climb and other regional events! Athletes will cover their own race entry fees for any and all events. Our National team is focussed on Jr National USAC series, on site coach support will be provided. Regional racers may receive support at National races for a $100 event fee. Optional housing/food support will be avail for National racers at events when family cannot attend.
coaching
Founder and Head coach, Ben Biggerstaff is a NICA L3 certified, USAC L3 Coach, Training Peaks accredited and has been competing in cycling for around 20 years with podium finishes in both local and national level races. Ben will be participating in most of the training rides with athletes along with other volunteer coaches who will lead other ability based pods of athletes. Other times athletes may ride together without a coach or another adult volunteer coach (all leaders will be background checked and complete safe sport training online or NICA equivalent).
We are different
What makes this team different than others? This is a team with a local, regional and national expression with personal attention given to each rider and their goals. We meet athletes where they are in their cycling journey. We train our regional and national team with power data, heart rate zones and weight training, all essential for maximizing training while preventing over training. Our local level athletes are those at a stage where simply increasing their volume is the focus. Others who have higher volume will be introduced to structured intervals. We seek to keep a balance of fun and structure, volume and intervals. We want cycling to be a lifelong love for these athletes. Community is very important to us. Therefore, we make it a goal to connect socially off the bike once per month for a movie night, game night, education session etc. Our unique partnerships and sponsors will enable members access to sports science, sports psychology and nutrition experts to consult with and local pro racer’s valuable experience. Last winter, I was on the search for a cycling development team, and I’m so glad that I found TRIBE. The first TRIBE practice I went to, I felt the sense of community, as teammates immediately rolled up and started talking to me. I was soon embraced into the team, and since then I’ve made so many good friends. I also really love the support the team offers at national-level races, as I was always provided tools to work on my bike, trainers to warm up on, and places to sit and relax before and after racing. The aspect of coaching with TRIBE is also very impressive, as it is very easy to reach out to my coaches with questions regarding my training, and they are very open to any changes I want to make regarding the training plan. Overall, I am very happy that I found the TRIBE community, and I look forward to racing with them next year!

The coaching and training that Tribe has given our daughter has catapulted her to a first place finisher this year in multiple races. The training is hard, but balanced, and the team dynamics are wonderful. All we see at the end of each practice are smiles. The kids and coaches are always having a great time while working so hard to improve. We love this program! -Sydney’s dad
